BAGHDAD, July 25. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats of Uzbekistan in Kuwait, as part of a working visit to Iraq, held negotiations with representatives of a number of ministries and agencies of the country and Iraqi Kurdistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In particular, the delegation held meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade, the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, and the National Investment Commission of Iraq, as well as the Regional Government and the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of Iraqi Kurdistan.

During the meetings, the parties discussed the practical implementation of agreements reached at the level of the leadership of the two countries and governments, the expansion of trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the strengthening of the legal framework, the development of transport and logistics ties, and the intensification of cooperation between business circles.

The parties agreed to hold the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Tashkent, accelerate the coordination of documents in the sphere of trade and economic cooperation, strengthen interaction on the mutual promotion and protection of investments, and continue regular dialogue.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of pilot investment projects in both countries, the exchange of information on public-private partnership issues and priority investment areas, as well as the organization of the next "Uzbekistan-Iraq" business forum within the framework of the Baghdad International Exhibition 2027.

Practical measures were also identified to establish Uzbek trading houses in Baghdad and Erbil, expand the supply of Uzbek products to the markets of Iraq and the Gulf countries, and exchange information on customs, transport, and logistics issues. In this direction, an online meeting was organized with the participation of representatives of the Iraqi company "Al-Kalab", the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, and the Joint-Stock Company "Trade Development Company".

During the negotiations, agreements were reached on developing cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries, creating the "Iraq–Uzbekistan" Business Council, as well as regularly holding joint business forums, B2B meetings, and business missions.

Following the visit, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand trade, economic, investment, and business ties, accelerate the implementation of joint projects, and strengthen cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iraq.
