Uzbekistan and University of Cambridge agree on cooperation in judicial and legal sphere

LONDON, August 14. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov, met with Associate Director of Research Programs at the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) at the University of Cambridge “Judge Business School”, Professor Douglas Arner, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, parties discussed the reforms underway in Uzbekistan aimed at strengthening the independence of the judiciary, increasing the efficiency of justice, and protecting the rights and legitimate interests of citizens and businesses.

Douglas Arner also noted the importance of the initiative to establish the Tashkent International Financial Centre. According to him, the application of the principles of English and Welsh Common Law can contribute to enhancing the confidence of foreign investors, creating transparent mechanisms for resolving commercial disputes and strengthening the competitiveness of the center.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on the exchange of experience in the field of judicial professional development, expanding digitalization and strengthening legal institutions.
