Uzbekistan and Omsk State Agrarian University identify new projects in agriculture

OMSK, October 5. /Dunyo IA/. Omsk State Agrarian University hosted a meeting with a delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Ambassador to Russia Botirjon Asadov, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Parties discussed prospects for joint work in the field of education, breeding, and the introduction of digital technologies in agriculture.
Vice-Rector for Educational Activities Svetlana Komarova presented the university's initiatives for personnel training, while the scientific potential of the university was disclosed by the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Natalya Goman.
It was stated that a high potential exists in the field of joint breeding of agricultural plants, especially in cultivating unique varieties of grain and legume crops capable of yielding high harvests in difficult natural and climatic conditions.
At the same time, the current fruitful cooperation between Omsk State Agrarian University and the Research Institute of Plant Genetic Resources of Uzbekistan was noted.
Key topic of discussion was the introduction of the “ASU-AGRO” intelligent system. This development automates the operation of livestock complexes, allowing for the monitoring of animal health, milk quality and the management of the milking process.
Following the meeting, concrete joint projects were outlined, and the parties also agreed to focus on the development of the fodder base, expanding cooperation in seed production and creating drought-resistant varieties.
Omsk State Agrarian University also plans to expand programs to attract students from Uzbekistan, including for master's degree studies, as well as to sign Memorandums of Understanding with specialized universities of Uzbekistan in the very near future.
