ISLAMABAD, October 7. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Alisher Tukhtayev, held a meeting with Advisor to the Prime Minister – Minister for Industries and Production of Pakistan Haroon Akhtar Khan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Parties reviewed the progress of the agreements reached during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on February 5–6^th, particularly in the spheres of trade, investment, export and industrial cooperation.

Haroon Akhtar Khan noted Pakistan’s interest in elevating economic relations with Uzbekistan to a new level and further developing cooperation in trade, investment, export, and tourism. According to him, the friendly and fraternal relations between the countries create a solid basis for the expansion of mutually beneficial economic ties.

Participants also discussed expanding the exchange of delegations, advancing interregional cooperation and industrial partnership, as well as accelerating the processing of proposed bilateral international agreements.

Special attention was paid to the preparations for the upcoming high-level visits, alongside organizing a business forum and the Uzbekistan–Pakistan Interregional Forum with an orientation toward achieving concrete, practical results.

Parties emphasized the importance of developing direct air transport connectivity. An increase in the frequency of flights, according to their assessment, would facilitate the expansion of contacts between the citizens of the two nations, including trade and tourism ties.

One of the pivotal topics addressed was air cargo transportation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan. The development of air cargo operations and transport-transit links is expected to streamline the movement of goods and contribute to increasing the volume of mutual trade.

Following the meeting, parties reaffirmed their commitment to continuing collaborative efforts to expand trade and economic cooperation and strengthen the longstanding friendly relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
