MOSCOW, October 6. /Dunyo IA/. The sixth meeting of the Subcommission on Culture was held in Moscow, co-chaired by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov and Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by the Deputy Ministers of Culture of the two countries, Andrey Malyshev and Odiljon Abduqahorov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia Botirjon Asadov and representatives of relevant agencies.

Parties agreed to expand the exchange of creative ensembles and increase the number of joint cultural projects. Special attention was paid to cooperation in the field of education: currently, 335 citizens of Uzbekistan are studying in Russia and a branch of the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) operates in Tashkent.

Development of theater and concert exchanges continues. Within the framework of the "Big Tours" project, Uzbek theaters perform in regions of Russia, including planned performances by the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Theatre in Krasnoyarsk.

In the field of cinematography, the sides discussed the co-production of films, hosting a forum for producers and cooperation on the restoration of motion pictures.

Following the meeting, a memorandum was signed between the choreographic academies of the two countries, providing for the development of joint programs and academic mobility. Key directions of cultural cooperation for the upcoming year were also defined.
