ISLAMABAD, October 6. /Dunyo IA/. Pakistani online publication “World News Pakistan” has published an article dedicated to Uzbekistan’s economic integration within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with the countries of the Organization of Turkic States reached $10.8 billion in 2025. These figures demonstrate considerable potential for further developing economic cooperation across the Turkic world.

An important feature of Uzbekistan’s approach within the OTS is its focus on strengthening economic cooperation through concrete mechanisms and projects.

“Uzbekistan’s President has proposed establishing a Permanent Council on Economic Partnership of the Turkic States and locating its Project Office in Tashkent, article says. - Such a mechanism could facilitate a shift from discussing economic initiatives to their systematic preparation and implementation”.

According to the Pakistani media outlet, another important initiative proposed by Uzbekistan is the establishment of a Turkic States Industrial Alliance.

Uzbekistan’s geographical location gives the transport component strategic importance in the process of economic integration within the OTS. For a landlocked country, development of new transport corridors is one of the key factors in enhancing the competitiveness of its foreign trade.

Article also emphasizes that deepening economic integration requires the establishment of appropriate institutions to provide financing for it. In this context, the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund marked a new stage in the development of cooperation within the OTS.
