Uzbekistan showcases industrial and export potential in the capital of Iraq

• 121BAGHDAD, December 24. /Dunyo IA/. An Uzbek-Iraqi Business Forum was held in Baghdad, organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Kuwait in cooperation with the Iraqi Economic Council, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event took place within the framework of an official visit to Iraq by a delegation from Uzbekistan led by Gulamov Shokhrukh, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade. Also participating were Davron Vakhabov, Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Rukhullo Zikrillaev, Assistant to Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade and representatives from “Uzbekneftegaz”, “Uzeltexsanoat” and “Uztextileprom”.
The Uzbek business delegation included representatives from 25 major companies and entrepreneurs working in sectors with high export potential, including food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, electrical engineering, furniture manufacturing and construction materials. On the Iraqi side, over 200 investors, importers and business representatives attended.
The forum featured a presentation highlighting Uzbekistan’s investment appeal, industrial capacity, and export potential. Two separate panel sessions were held on the topics of “Strengthening and Expanding Trade Between Uzbekistan and Iraq” and “Promising Investment Opportunities”, with three representatives from both Uzbekistan and Iraq speaking at each session.
Additionally, B2B meetings were organized between business representatives of both countries to discuss prospective areas of bilateral economic cooperation. To enhance the effectiveness of the discussions, an exhibition of Uzbek-made products was set up, showcasing textiles, food products, construction materials, and other goods.
Among the Uzbek companies presented to Iraqi businesspeople were “Sam Rafoat Tekstil”, “Artel Electronics Manufacturing”, “Radiks”, “Samarkand-England Eco-Medical”, “Zafarxon” and others.
