WARSAW, July 22. /Dunyo IA/.   Polish media portal “Wnp.pl” published an article dedicated to the expansion of the transport network and the construction of a new airport in Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication notes that Uzbekistan is consistently strengthening its position as one of the key transport and logistics hubs of Central Asia, thanks to the large-scale modernization of its transport infrastructure and the development of the aviation industry. The Polish outlet writes that the republic effectively utilizes its advantageous geographical position, turning it into a major competitive advantage.

It is emphasized that alongside the development of road and rail infrastructure, Uzbekistan is actively investing in air transport, implementing a long-term program for the construction of new airports, the liberalization of the aviation market and the attraction of international investors.

Author pays special attention to the construction of a new international airport near Tashkent, which will become the country's largest aviation project. According to the publication, the airport will span an area of 1,310 hectares and will be equipped with a four-kilometer runway and a modern passenger terminal covering 208,000 square meters. Its projected capacity will be up to 20 million passengers and 129,000 tons of cargo per year, with the possibility of further expansion.

Article emphasizes that the development of the aviation industry is accompanied by the liberalization of the air transport market. In particular, it notes plans for the partial privatization of the national airline “Uzbekistan Airways” through an international IPO, as well as the implementation of an “open skies” policy, which facilitates the emergence of new private air carriers and strengthens competition.

Polish publication concludes that the large-scale modernization of aviation infrastructure, the implementation of major investment projects and consistent reforms create the conditions for transforming Uzbekistan into one of the leading regional aviation, transport and logistics hubs connecting Europe and Asia.
