“The World News”: Mahalla in Uzbekistan must become a true Center of Trust, Support and Opportunity for the People

Popular Pakistani online publication “The World News” has published an article dedicated to the video-conference meeting presided over by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, on creating a new environment in mahallas and improving the activities of the “mahalla seven”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publication highlights that the meeting reviewed matters concerning the socio-economic development of mahallas, crime prevention, resolving public grievances and enhancing the responsibility of the members of the “mahalla seven”.
President of Uzbekistan emphasized that the mahalla must become a true center of trust, support, and opportunity for the people.
Article also reports that the President of Uzbekistan has signed a decree on the effective organization of mahalla management. According to the document, the mahalla chairman must transition from being an individual who merely records social issues into an “economic contractor” for his respective territory.
Publication sates that from now on, each mahalla chairman will formulate the economic and social agenda for their respective territory. In this process, the problem will be precisely calculated, a project will be prepared, and tasks will be assigned to the responsible organizations. Furthermore, mahalla chairmen will be granted the authority to put up land plots for auction for the construction of private kindergartens, schools, clinics and sports facilities.
According to the Pakistani online publication, the year 2026 has been declared in Uzbekistan as the “Year of the Development of the Mahalla and the Whole Society”. In this regard, it was emphasized that the outcomes of reforms across all sectors must, first and foremost, manifest within the mahalla and the well-being of the people. Furthermore, the 35th anniversary of the country's independence will be widely celebrated under the noble motto, “With a United Homeland and a United Nation, We Shall Build a New Life and a New Future!” To host the greatest and most cherished holiday in the mahallas in an elevated spirit, a “Month of Well-improvement and Mercy in Mahallas” has been announced.
