PHILADELPHIA, May 14. /IA "Dunyo"/. Natives of Uzbekistan took part in the “AAPI Heritage Month Gala 2026” event, dedicated to the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the United States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The forum was organized by the Asian American Business Alliance of Greater Philadelphia (AABAGP), which is one of the large social and business platforms in the region, bringing together representatives of Asian communities, businesses and public organizations.

The event was attended by representatives of the Chinese, Indian, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Pakistani, Vietnamese and other diasporas, as well as business and municipal structures of Philadelphia. Such platforms in the US are traditionally used to expand cooperation between national associations, discuss joint initiatives and strengthen contacts with local government authorities.

This year, natives of Uzbekistan, represented by the “Vatan Global Alliance” diaspora organization, participated in the forum for the first time.

According to the participants, involvement in such events aims to further strengthen the position of compatriots in American society, expand contacts with representatives of other national associations and social-business circles, as well as promote a positive image of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that such platforms allow activists to participate more actively in the public life of the United States, build sustainable ties with representatives of municipalities, businesses and various social structures, as well as establish new contacts for further joint initiatives.

During the forum, representatives of Uzbeks held a series of meetings and talks with the participants, got acquainted with the activities of other diaspora organizations, and discussed issues of cooperation with public and municipal structures of Philadelphia.

Notably, the past forum actually became one of the preparatory public platforms ahead of a number of events scheduled to take place soon in Philadelphia with the assistance of “Vatan Global Alliance” and Uzbek diplomats in the US, as well as with the participation of representatives of Uzbekistan's regions visiting the United States for business and public purposes, including a delegation of the Samarkand regional khokimiyat led by Khokim Adiz Boboev.
