Prospects of protecting the rights and supporting compatriots discussed by Uzbek Diplomats in Lubin and Kraków

• 120WARSAW, June 3. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan visited the cities of Lubin in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship and Kraków in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship to provide consular support to compatriots, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the visit, in cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, the situation related to the detention of three citizens of Uzbekistan was reviewed.
According to information from the Polish side, the incident occurred during labour activities on the premises of a logistics center for the “Biedronka” retail chain and was related to a conflict situation involving a citizen of Tajikistan.
According to the investigation, the mutual conflict resulted in physical injuries inflicted on the victim. The Polish Prosecutor's Office filed charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty and making threats, noting that the individuals could face imprisonment for up to 5 years.
During the visit, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan held meetings with the detained citizens, reviewed the circumstances of the case, and assessed their detention conditions. The detainees stated that the incident was the result of a mutual conflict and that they were previously acquainted with the victim.
Additionally, a meeting was held in Kraków with compatriots engaged in labour activities in the region. The meeting addressed social and housing matters, family reunification procedures, and provided clarifications on Polish labour and migration laws.
Particular attention was paid to the impermissibility of using falsified documents, the necessity of strict compliance with the laws of the host country, and the reinforcement of legal culture and mutual respect among compatriots.
It was separately noted that, within the framework of events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, information and awareness-raising initiatives continue to be carried out to strengthen national values, patriotism, legal literacy, and civic cohesion.
Furthermore, citizens were briefed on the online consular services implemented by the Embassy and the procedures for utilizing them to receive prompt consular assistance.
