MINSK, October 8. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbek filmmakers presented their documentary works at the 10th International Documentary Film Festival of CIS Countries “Eurasia.DOC”, which concluded in Minsk and Smolensk, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Anniversary festival received a record 413 entries from 17 countries this year, with 34 films making it to the shortlist.

Uzbekistan was represented by two films - “Faces of Victory. The Warmth of Hearts. How Uzbekistan Became a Second Home for the Children of the Siege”, directed by Sergey Yezhkov and the short film “You Are Not Alone” by Adhamjon Abdurahmonov.

The first film tells the story of children evacuated from besieged Leningrad who were taken in by Uzbek families during the Great Patriotic War. The film focuses on the themes of humanism and preserving historical memory.

Film “You Are Not Alone” was included in the special short-film programme and explores contemporary social initiatives, compassion and human support.

In addition to the screenings, representatives of Uzbekistan took part in round-table discussions and debates devoted to contemporary conflicts, the development of joint film production among CIS countries, and the use of new technologies, including neural networks, in documentary filmmaking.

Participation of Uzbek filmmakers in the anniversary festival provided a platform for professional exchange and discussions on new joint projects with representatives of the film industry from CIS countries.
