Abu Dhabi hosts talks on wastewater treatment plant project in Namangan

DUBAI, June 26. /Dunyo IA/. A meeting was held with Rami Ghandour, Chief Executive Officer of Metito, one of the UAE’s leading companies specializing in water supply and wastewater treatment, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The discussions focused on prospects for cooperation in modernizing Uzbekistan’s water infrastructure and expanding the introduction of advanced international technologies into the sector.

Particular attention was given to the current status and next stages of implementing a project to construct a modern wastewater treatment plant in the Namangan region under a public-private partnership (PPP) framework.

The parties emphasized the project's importance for enhancing environmental sustainability in the Fergana Valley, promoting the efficient use of water resources, and improving the provision of modern utility services to both the population and industrial enterprises.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on introducing international best practices in wastewater treatment and recycling, applying innovative engineering solutions, and exploring additional promising projects aimed at further developing Uzbekistan’s water infrastructure.
