BAMBERG, September 29. /Dunyo IA/.  Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov visited the German city of Bamberg, one of the largest economically developed cities in the federal state of Bavaria, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As part of the visit, meetings were held with representatives of the city administration, healthcare and educational institutions, as well as the Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Upper Franconia. A “roundtable” discussion was also held on prospects for further developing cooperation.

During the meeting with Bamberg Mayor Sebastian Niedermaier, the sides discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the areas of the economy, tourism, vocational and higher education, as well as healthcare. They also exchanged views on establishing interregional ties, arranging reciprocal visits by official and business delegations and organizing joint events.

At a meeting with representatives of the “Sozialstiftung Bamberg” medical and social foundation, as well as the nursing academies of Bamberg and Neumarkt, the possibilities of implementing joint projects for the training of mid-level medical professionals were discussed. The meeting also addressed the recruitment of qualified specialists from Uzbekistan to work at medical institutions within the foundation’s system.

Furthermore, a “roundtable” discussion was held with the participation of representatives of the Chamber of Skilled Crafts for Upper Franconia, officials responsible for vocational education and labour migration from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, administration of the city of Bamberg and “Sozialstiftung Bamberg” Foundation.

During the event, an exchange of views took place on the prospects of expanding cooperation with enterprises and employers of the city and the region, as well as vocational and dual education institutions. Particular attention was focused on developing ties in the field of vocational education, training qualified specialists, and the opportunities for their employment in available vacancies across the region.

It was noted that Upper Franconia has more than 20,000 vacant jobs in fields such as medicine, construction, electrical engineering, mechatronics, road construction, logistics, education, and hospitality. This, in turn, opens up additional opportunities for cooperation in the sphere of vocational education and the attraction of qualified personnel.

Following the meetings, agreements were reached on organizing a visit of official and business representatives from this region of Germany to Uzbekistan in 2027, as well as developing practical projects and initiatives aimed at attracting qualified specialists from Uzbekistan to fill the existing vacancies.
