Meetings with citizens of Uzbekistan take place in Grozny

As part of a working trip to the Chechen Republic of Russia, diplomats from the General Consulate of Uzbekistan in Rostov-on-Don organized an outreach consular reception at the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in the city of Grozny and also held meetings with fellow citizens temporarily staying within the consular district, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meetings with citizens, issues of concern to them were discussed, necessary consular and legal consultations were provided, and information was shared regarding the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan and the measures implemented by the state to support and protect the rights of compatriots abroad.
In continuation of the visit, an exchange of views took place with the leadership of the Migration Affairs Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Chechen Republic, the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens in the city of Grozny, and representatives of relevant departments on topical issues of consular and legal cooperation.
During the negotiations, special attention was paid to the issues of further improving the mechanisms of operational interaction, information exchange, protection of the rights and legitimate interests of the citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as accelerating the procedures for their return to their homeland within the framework of the current legislation.
Following the talks, practical measures were agreed upon for the return of 31 citizens of Uzbekistan held in the center to their homeland in the coming days.
