JAKARTA, July 1. /Dunyo IA/.  International Tourism Forum and Exhibition “Umrah Plus Uzbekistan” was hosted in the capital of Indonesia, bringing together companies and specialists from Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and Morocco, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Vice Minister of Trade of Indonesia Dyah Putri, who delivered a welcoming address. Within the framework of the forum, “Umrah Plus Uzbekistan” project and presentations dedicated to the tourism potential of Uzbekistan were showcased. Following the official segment, a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony took place, marking the commencement of the exhibition's operations.

Throughout the event, participants conducted business meetings and negotiations within their respective pavilions, deliberating on the prospects of joint initiatives and programs for the advancement of pilgrimage tourism. Key matters under discussion included the creation of collaborative tourism products, the exchange of best practices and the establishment of sustainable channels of cooperation among operators from different nations.

Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, Embassy of Uzbekistan in Indonesia and a number of domestic tourism companies actively participated in the exhibition. The exposition showcased the rich historical and cultural heritage of Uzbekistan, the potential of pilgrimage tourism, as well as the country's prominent tourism centers - Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva as world cultural heritage sites. Particular attention was devoted to the modern tourism infrastructure established within the republic.

Upon the conclusion of the forum, an award ceremony was held to honour the most active organizations and companies. The participants noted that “Umrah Plus Uzbekistan” served as an important platform for expanding cooperation in the field of pilgrimage tourism, establishing new business contacts, and promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan on the international arena.
