Ukrainian Media hail Uzbekistan as the “Dazzling heart of the Silk Road”

KYIV, July 1. /Dunyo IA/. Ukrainian news agency “Glavcom” published an article dedicated to the rapid growth of Uzbekistan's tourism attractiveness, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publication, drawing upon material from “The New York Times”, underscores that Uzbekistan has emerged as a major new tourism trend among international travelers.
“Glavcom” Information Agency reports that Central Asia is becoming an increasingly sought-after destination among millennial and Generation Z tourists, and Uzbekistan, according to “The New York Times”, has attracted the greatest attention from international travelers.
It is emphasized that since 2016, Republic has actively implemented comprehensive reforms in the tourism sector, including the liberalization of the visa regime, the development of hotel infrastructure, and the expansion of high-speed railway connectivity. Owing to these measures, the publication notes, Uzbekistan is hailed as the “dazzling heart of the Silk Road”.
Author of the publication also draws attention to the sustained growth of tourist arrivals. According to the presented data, Uzbekistan welcomed a record 11.7 million foreign tourists in 2025, which nearly doubles the figure recorded in 2019 (6.7 million people).
As the “Glavcom” News Agency notes, the ongoing reforms and the country's growing popularity across social media networks contribute to the further reinforcement of Uzbekistan's position as one of the most attractive tourist destinations in Central Asia.
