CAIRO, October 28. /Dunyo IA/.   Embassy of Uzbekistan in Egypt hosted a solemn event dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the country's Independence, gathering representatives of state bodies, diplomatic corps, parliament, as well as business, scientific and cultural circles, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt Abdelaziz Konsowa, attended the event as the Guest of Honour. The participants also included representatives from the fields of tourism, archaeology, industry, investment, healthcare, and education.

Opening the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mansurbek Kilichev spoke about the country's development over the years of independence, the reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the priorities of an open foreign policy. He emphasized that the shared historical and cultural heritage, along with the trust-based dialogue between the leadership of the two states, contributes to the expansion of political, trade, economic, investment, scientific, educational and tourism cooperation.

Minister Abdelaziz Konsowa conveyed the heartfelt congratulations of the Egyptian leadership on the occasion of the anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence and noted the consistent development of bilateral ties. He also emphasized the importance of expanding student and faculty exchanges, launching joint educational and scientific programs, as well as strengthening cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, trade and investment.

During the speeches, mutual interest of both countries in developing a comprehensive strategic partnership aimed at ensuring the interests of the two peoples was underscored.

Program featured a video presentation showcasing modern Uzbekistan, along with performances by artists presenting national dances and musical compositions. The guests also engaged in informal communication and a commemorative photo session.
