Uzbekistan showcases historical and cultural heritage at Malaysia’s largest university, highlighting partnership prospects

• 65KUALA LUMPUR, February 17. /Dunyo IA/. At Malaysia’s largest higher education institution, MARA University of Technology (UiTM), a presentation was held on “'The rich history of Uzbekistan and modernity: Uzbek - Malaysian relations”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Opening the meeting, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Karomiddin Gadoev delivered a comprehensive presentation dedicated to the centuries-old history of our country, the outstanding scholars who brought fame to the Uzbek land, and their rich scientific and cultural heritage.
Particular attention was paid to the personality of the great statesman and patron of science and enlightenment, Amir Temur, who made a significant contribution to the development of Uzbek statehood, as well as the Timurid Renaissance - an era that remains a brilliant chapter in world history.
During the “roundtable”, participants exchanged views on the similarities between the historical paths, cultural and artistic traditions of the Uzbek and Malaysian peoples, as well as their shared Islamic values.
Discussions with representatives of the MARA University of Technology (UiTM) focused on further strengthening scientific and practical cooperation within the framework of the “New Uzbekistan” and “Malaysia Madani” concepts.
The participants showed particular interest in the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, as well as the initiatives announced by the Head of State during the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, aimed at preserving and passing on the rich heritage of ancestors and the values of Islamic civilization to future generations. In this context, information was shared regarding the establishment of the Center of Islamic Civilization in Tashkent and the reconstruction of the Imam al-Bukhari complex in Samarkand.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached to develop academic and research cooperation, launch faculty and student exchange programs, and implement a joint educational program in the field of tourism. Additionally, an agreement was made for the donation of foreign-language textbooks to educational institutions in rural regions of Uzbekistan.
Founded in 1956, MARA Technological University (UiTM) is the largest public university in Malaysia, ranking 542nd in the “QS World University Rankings”. The university offers over 500 educational programs, with key specializations including tourism management, engineering and technology, petroleum engineering, architecture and urban planning, and information technology.
