OSH, September 28. /Dunyo IA/.   Meetings with the leadership of the rectorate and students of this educational institution were held at Osh State University, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Latif Gandilov and Ambassador of Tajikistan Alizoda Nazirmad delivered lectures on the topic “Independence is the Foundation of Development, Peace and Good-Neighborliness”.

Event was also attended by staff from the Plenipotentiary Representation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan in the Osh, Jalal-Abad and Batken regions.

According to the Rector of Osh State University, Kudaiberdi Kozhobekov, OshSU is currently a multidisciplinary, open and modern university developing in accordance with international standards.

According to him, in the “QS Asia University Rankings 2026”, OshSU secured the 316^th position among 1,526 universities and the 22^nd position among 74 universities in Central Asia. Concurrently, in the “QS World University Rankings for Sustainability 2026”, university ranked 1501+.

OshSU maintains bilateral cooperation agreements with more than 300 higher education institutions from 30 countries worldwide.

In particular, OshSU collaborates with 70 universities in Uzbekistan on the basis of concluded agreements. This cooperation encompasses the exchange of faculty and students, conduct of joint scientific research, organization of guest lectures and the implementation of educational programs. Within the framework of academic mobility, more than 600 students from OshSU annually participate in academic mobility and short-term study programs in Uzbekistan.

Center for the Kyrgyz Language and Culture operates at the at the Alisher Navoiy Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature, while the Center for the Uzbek Language and Culture functions at Osh State University.

In their addresses, Ambassadors of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Tajikistan spoke on the significance of the independence of their nations, the historical pathways of the republics' development, as well as the substantial achievements attained across various fields during the years of independent development.

Particular attention in the speeches was paid to bilateral relations between the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, the role of unity and solidarity among the peoples of these states, as well as transport and economic projects.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Saidikram Niyazkhodjaev, also briefed the participants of the meeting on the key points of the address delivered by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, at the solemn event dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, which took place on August 28^th, 2026, in New Tashkent.

Furthermore, during the event, the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the role and activities of the Center of Islamic Civilization, development of Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations, role of Uzbekistan in strengthening the unity of Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan, as well as the mega-projects being implemented in the region were highlighted.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a discussion and an exchange of views with students on matters of bilateral and international policy were held.
