MOSCOW, October 7. /Dunyo IA/.  Within the framework of the Days of Culture of Uzbekistan in Russia, an open dialogue was held at the Embassy of our country with compatriots studying and working in the region, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov and Ambassador Botirjon Asadov. During the meeting, an open dialogue took place with Uzbek youth studying in Russia, compatriots working in various fields, as well as heads of Uzbek diasporas and cultural organizations operating in different regions of Russia.

Event brought together compatriots studying at leading higher education institutions in Moscow, including the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (MGIMO), National Research University “Higher School of Economics” (HSE), Plekhanov Russian University of Economics and Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN).

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on issues regarding the lives of compatriots in Russia, their educational and professional activities, the provision of support to them and the further strengthening of their ties with Uzbekistan.

Special attention was paid to preserving the national identity of young people studying abroad and raising them in the spirit of respect for their native language, national customs, and traditions. It was also emphasized that the participation of youth in popularizing the culture and art of Uzbekistan in Russia is of great importance.

Proposals and opinions of compatriots working in Russia were also heard. During the conversation, an exchange of views took place regarding the contemporary cultural life of Uzbekistan, the reforms carried out in the cultural sphere, new projects and cultural and educational initiatives.

The meeting also discussed issues of further expanding cultural ties with compatriots, involving them in the cultural processes taking place in Uzbekistan and supporting initiatives aimed at popularizing national culture and art abroad.
