LEVERKUSEN, October 7. /Dunyo IA/.   A festive event dedicated to the 35^th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan, organized by the Embassy of our country in Germany in cooperation with the “Sharqona” society, was held in Leverkusen, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by citizens of Uzbekistan residing, working, and studying in various cities of Germany, along with their families and representatives of the local public.

Diplomats congratulated the participants on the holiday and spoke about the achievements of Uzbekistan in recent years, ongoing reforms, development of education and healthcare, modernization of the economy and expansion of opportunities for the youth.

It was separately noted that the festive events are being held under the motto “As one Motherland, as one people, we shall build a new life, a new future!”, aimed at strengthening public unity and the connection of the young generation with national values.

Cultural program included performances by compatriots with national songs and dances, as well as folk games and sports competitions. Participants prepared pilaf in five different ways, presenting the diversity of Uzbek national cuisine.

Within the framework of the meeting, the sides also discussed issues of expanding ties with Uzbekistanis living abroad, supporting their public associations and initiatives, as well as strengthening the spiritual and cultural ties of the youth in Germany with Uzbekistan.

Diplomats answered the queries of compatriots on consular and other practical matters, and also listened to their proposals and initiatives.
