SAMARKAND, May 3. /Dunyo IA/. A press conference for journalists is being held by Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masato Kanda as part of the ongoing 59th Annual Meeting of the Bank’s Board of Governors, reports Dunyo IA correspondents from the ancient city of Samarkand.

From May 3 to 6, 2026, Samarkand is hosting the 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors of the ADB under the slogan “Crossroads of Progress.” The forum brings together more than 3,000 delegates from 69 countries. Participants include finance ministers, central bank governors, and heads of major corporations who shape the direction of the global economy.

The program includes 70 to 90 events over four days. Key themes include green transformation, digitalization, and investment mobilization. The business forum focuses on infrastructure development through public-private partnership mechanisms and attracting private capital to ensure sustainable regional growth.

The event is covered by 117 accredited journalists, including 84 representatives of international media from 29 countries, providing broad international coverage of the initiatives discussed in the areas of climate and economic integration. Samarkand serves as a platform for strategic dialogue between government and business.

In addition to the Board of Governors’ meetings, thematic seminars and youth sessions are also being held as part of the event.
