SAINT PETERSBURG, March 10. /Dunyo IA/.  An iftar was held in Saint Petersburg for more than 120 Uzbek citizens, primarily women employed at the enterprise “Baltic Coast” (Baltiyskiy Bereg), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was led by Ilyoskhon Sobitov, Imam-Khatib of the “Obid Qori Khoji” Mosque in Namangan region. He congratulated the compatriots on the occasion of Ramadan and emphasized the state’s care for its citizens abroad.

The Imam also reminded attendees of the importance of avoiding religious sects and relying solely on official sources of information. The work of the 24-hour hotline of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan for religious consultations was highlighted.

Participants expressed gratitude for the organization of the event and for the attention shown by the government. Many noted that it was their first time attending an officially organized festive iftar and expressed joy at the fact that the country’s leadership supports compatriots living far from home.
