Iftar ceremony held at Karabük University strengthens cultural ties among Uzbek students in Türkiye

KARABÜK, March 7. /Dunyo IA/.  Diplomats of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Türkiye organized an iftar for Uzbek students studying at Karabük University on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was attended by the Rector, professors, and faculty members of the university, representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Türkiye, as well as Jurabek Rakhmonov, Imam-Khatib of Fergana who arrived from Uzbekistan.

Opening the gathering, the Rector of the university, Refik Polat, highlighted the high academic potential of Uzbek students, their active engagement in the academic and social life of the university and their esteemed standing within the student community. He also emphasized the attention and support provided by the Government of Uzbekistan to youth studying abroad, noting that events of this kind hold special spiritual and unifying significance for the students.

During the event, Professor Saidbek Boltabayev, Director of the Chingiz Aitmatov Center for Research and Applied Studies of the Turkic World and Doctor of Philological Sciences at the university, delivered a speech. In his address, he highlighted the broad opportunities currently being created for youth under the initiative of the country’s leadership, urging students to make effective use of these conditions, pursue profound knowledge and represent their homeland with dignity on the international stage.

The gathering also featured a speech by Jura Bek Rakhmonov, imam-khatib of Fergana, who encouraged young people to seek knowledge, perform good deeds, and make a worthy contribution to the development of society. The event concluded with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran.

 

The evening was further enriched by artistic and musical performances prepared by Uzbek students, creating a special atmosphere.

Participants emphasized that such events represent a vivid expression of the state policy guided by the principle of “Inson qadri uchun” – “For the honor and dignity of the human being.” According to them, these gatherings help strengthen bonds of friendship among students studying abroad, foster dialogue, and promote the spiritual values of the holy month of Ramadan.

Students also noted that such meetings allow youth studying abroad to feel the support of their country more deeply, reinforce their sense of pride in their homeland, and heighten their responsibility for representing it honorably on the international stage.
