Iftar gatherings and citizen engagement organized for Uzbek nationals in Khabarovsk Krai

• 258KHABAROVSK, March 10. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Consulate General and representatives of the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan conducted a working visit to Khabarovsk Krai, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The purpose of the visit was to hold iftar events, meet with Uzbek citizens working in the region, and organize mobile services to provide consular and legal assistance.
Specifically, meetings were held in Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Khabarovsk with Uzbek nationals employed in road construction, catering, and the construction of residential and non-residential facilities. Discussions took place at enterprises such as “RimStroy”, “E-Story”, “Master Plit Story”, and “SeverStroy”, as well as with individual entrepreneurs. Negotiations were also conducted with the management of these organizations.
During the meetings, the working and living conditions of the employees, catering arrangements, timely payment of wages and the protection of labour rights were reviewed.
The compatriots were briefed on the activities of the Consulate General and ongoing efforts to protect citizens' rights. Special attention was paid to preventing the involvement of citizens in the activities of extremist and international terrorist organizations, which use religious slogans to spread radical ideas and recruit individuals into illegal acts. Citizens were urged to comply with the legislation of the host country, strengthen interethnic harmony and religious tolerance and worthily represent the culture of Uzbekistan.
Furthermore, participants were informed about the reforms implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev regarding social, legal, financial and cultural support for compatriots abroad and the insurance of safe migration.
During negotiations with employers, company representatives reported available vacancies and a demand for qualified specialists. The parties agreed to further attract Uzbek citizens to fill the labor shortage. Enterprise representatives were also briefed on the current procedures for the organized employment of Uzbek citizens abroad and opportunities for cooperation with the Migration Agency of Uzbekistan and private employment agencies.
As part of the visit, a mobile consular reception was organized for Uzbek citizens in the Khabarovsk Territory. During the session, 42 applications were reviewed. Legal clarifications were provided, the majority of issues were resolved on the spot and specific cases were taken under additional supervision. Some matters were referred to Russian law enforcement authorities for further review.
The working trip also included a meeting with Alyona Oleshchuk, a local civil lawyer. The parties discussed the protection of the rights of Uzbek citizens in administrative offense cases at the pre-trial stage and during legal proceedings.
Following the meeting, a preliminary agreement on cooperation was reached to provide qualified legal assistance to citizens of Uzbekistan temporarily working in the region.
