XXII Charitable Festival of Cultural Traditions and National Dishes is taking place in Tashkent

• 62TASHKENT, May 23. /Dunyo IA/. Today, the capital is hosting the XXII Charitable Festival of Cultural Traditions and National Dishes, organized by the Diplomatic Service Directorate (Diplomatik servis xizmati) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event is one of the country's traditional international cultural platforms and is aimed at developing intercultural dialogue, strengthening humanitarian ties and popularizing the traditions of the world's peoples.
Representatives from more than twenty diplomatic missions, international organizations, and national cultural centers accredited and operating in Uzbekistan are participating in this year's festival. Participants present national dishes, cultural traditions, musical and dance programs, as well as elements of national costumes from various countries.
The opening ceremony featured speeches by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullaev, Director General of the Diplomatic Service Directorate Oybek Egamberdiev and other officials.
Festival guests have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the unique features of national cuisines, participate in the cooking process, and attend the cultural and entertainment program prepared by the diplomatic corps and event partners.
The organizers note that the festival is held for charitable purposes. The funds raised from the sale of national dishes, as well as sponsorship aid, will be directed toward supporting children with oncological diseases and children with disabilities in Uzbekistan.
For the first time, drawings by the children of diplomats accredited in Uzbekistan on the theme of “Peace on Earth” are showcased at the festival.
