ALMETYEVSK, November 4. /Dunyo IA/. In the city of Almetyevsk, Tatarstan, the situation involving a “Yutong” bus traveling on the Moscow–Tashkent route, which was detained by traffic police officers with 51 passengers on board, has been resolved, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Bus was sent to an impound lot on October 31st after migration law violations were detected on the part of two citizens of Uzbekistan. An administrative protocol was drawn up against the driver, and the vehicle was sealed along with the passengers' luggage.
Following the intervention of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan and the Migration Agency, passengers' belongings were transferred to another bus. By the morning of November 2nd, all citizens of Uzbekistan had received their luggage and resumed their journey.
In connection with the incident, the Consulate General proposed to strengthen control over international bus services, verify the migration documents of passengers during ticket sales and discuss the practice of holding drivers liable for migration law violations committed by passengers.
Furthermore, it was proposed to hold negotiations with the Russian side to simplify the transit of scheduled buses through the border checkpoints of Russia and Kazakhstan, as well as to enhance the technical inspection of vehicles prior to departures, particularly ahead of the winter season.
