UWED discusses the role of women in promoting a culture of tolerance

TASHKENT, November 9. /Dunyo IA/. A mentoring session dedicated to the International Day of Tolerance, titled "Our Common Home: Wisdom Passed Down by Leading Women of Uzbekistan", was held at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event was organized under the auspices of the UWED Women’s Advisory Council in honour of the International Day of Tolerance. The primary goal of the session was to foster among female students a sense of mutual respect, goodwill, interethnic harmony, and tolerance, as well as to strengthen ideals of selflessness, responsibility, and leadership through the life stories of prominent women of the country.

Among the distinguished guests were the national artist of Uzbekistan and well-known TV presenter Galina Melnikova, and Galina Rakhmatullaeva, professor at the Department of Uzbek and Russian Languages at UWED.

In their speeches, the guests emphasized that Uzbekistan, as a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional nation, consistently promotes a culture of understanding, harmony, and respect, which forms a vital foundation for sustainable development. They shared personal and professional experiences, highlighting the importance of qualities such as confidence, independent thinking, and perseverance in achieving one’s goals.

The warm and trusting atmosphere of the meeting facilitated an open dialogue between generations - experienced professionals and young aspiring diplomats allowing participants to discuss the role of tolerance in shaping mature individuals and a harmonious society.

At the conclusion of the mentoring session, participants received recommendations on actively practicing principles of tolerance, friendship, and mutual respect in daily life, as well as on strengthening civic responsibility and personal initiative.

The event left a profound impression on all participants, serving as a vivid confirmation that spirituality, humanism, and tolerance remain enduring values that unite society.

In turn, the Chairperson of the UWED Women’s Advisory Council, Doctor of Political Sciences and professor Etibor Sultanova, noted that the event was not only educational but also a spiritually enriching experience.

According to her, the students not only gained new knowledge but also showcased their talents by reciting poetry and performing musical compositions, demonstrating a high level of creative skill and inner culture.

"As the saying goes, educating a woman nurtures a family, and educating young ladies shapes a bright and spiritually rich generation. In this context, the event has become a part of this noble mission - a contribution to shaping the future of our society, where knowledge and kindness go hand in hand," emphasized professor Sultanova.
