TASHKENT, June 8. /Dunyo IA/. Within the framework of the Uzbekistan–Turkey media dialogue, a delegation from the Global Journalists Council visited our country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The delegation, consisting of over 40 journalists, media experts, and industry representatives led by the organization's President Mehmet Ali Dim, took part in a series of official meetings and events.

As part of the visit program, official negotiations, media conferences, educational meetings, and tours introducing Uzbekistan's historical and cultural heritage were conducted.

During the negotiations, a memorandum aimed at developing mutual cooperation was signed between Dunyo Information Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Global Journalists Council.

It was noted that this document will serve to further strengthen cooperation in the media sphere between the parties, expand information exchange, and launch joint media projects.

One of the main events of the visit took place at the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan. Journalists arriving from Turkey, Azerbaijan, North Macedonia and several European countries met with the university's faculty and students to discuss pressing issues concerning the development of modern journalism.

During the meetings, views were exchanged on the development of journalism in the context of digital transformation, information security, media education, the information consumption culture of the younger generation and the prospects for international journalistic cooperation.

University Rector Sherzodkhon Kudratkhodja emphasized that such international dialogues provide essential practical experience for students, drawing specific attention to the fundamental changes, new technologies, and innovative approaches taking place in the field of journalism.

Additionally, an international panel discussion themed “Media and Education in the Turkic World” was organized in Tashkent. It covered pressing topics such as digital media transformation, artificial intelligence and journalism, the information consumption patterns of Generations Z, Alpha and Beta, diaspora journalism, cooperation within the Turkic world information space and contemporary trends in media education.

Event participants noted that in today's global information space, journalism serves not only to deliver information but also acts as an essential tool for strengthening mutual trust and understanding between peoples.

Experts emphasized that this visit once again confirms the growing international interest in the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan regarding the policy of openness, the modernization of the media sector, and the improvement of journalism education.

This media dialogue will serve to strengthen professional ties between journalistic communities of different countries, expand opportunities for experience sharing and create new openings for future joint media initiatives.
