WASHINGTON, October 18. /Dunyo IA/.   Uzbek-American legal forum “Uzbek Law Day – USA 2026” was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United States, organized by the diplomatic mission in cooperation with Uzbekistan-based company “Lawday”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Forum aimed to familiarise American partners with the legal reforms underway in Uzbekistan, guarantees for the protection of foreign investment, international arbitration and commercial dispute resolution mechanisms, as well as to expand practical cooperation with U.S. law firms in providing legal support for investment projects.

Forum brought together representatives of leading US law firms, including “White & Case”, “Norton Rose Fulbright”, “Clark Hill”, “Arnall Golden Gregory”, “Squire Patton Boggs” and “Norbeck & Partners”; the consulting and insurance company “Willis Towers Watson”; the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) and American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce.

Uzbek side was represented by the law firms “PraeLegal Uzbekistan” and “Solvo Law Firm”, the Tashkent International Arbitration Centre, law offices and relevant industry experts.

Participants emphasized that improvements to investment legislation and the development of public-private partnership mechanisms were creating additional legal avenues for financing and implementing projects involving foreign investors.

As part of the forum, thematic presentations were delivered to U.S. participants on reforms to attract and provide legal protection for foreign investment, investment legislation, public-private partnership mechanisms and the rights and opportunities available to investors in the mining sector.

During the event, representatives of Uzbek and U.S. law firms established direct business contacts and discussed prospects for providing legal support for investment projects, exchanging experience in international arbitration and organising joint professional events.

One of the key outcomes of the forum was the announcement of the establishment of the American-Uzbekistan Lawyers Association (AULA).

In addition, as part of the events held in conjunction with “Uzbek Law Day – USA 2026”, establishment of the American-Canadian Uzbek Lawyers Association (ACULA), initiated by Uzbek lawyers residing in the United States and Canada, was officially announced. The newly established organisation also held its inaugural meeting.
