Videos Promoting Tourism Potential of Uzbekistan Featured on Advertising Screens in Japanese Osaka

OSAKA, November 1. /Dunyo IA/. Videos showcasing tourism potential of Uzbekistan are being displayed in Namba–Dotonbori, one of the busiest and most popular tourist districts of the Japanese city of Osaka, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The advertising campaign, initiated by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan, is running from October 26 to November 1. The 15-second promotional videos are broadcast four times per hour daily, from 8:00 a.m. to midnight local time.

More than 200,000 people pass through the Namba–Dotonbori intersection every day, with the number exceeding one million on weekends.

Under the slogan “Welcome to Uzbekistan – the Heart of the Silk Road!”, the videos introduce viewers to the rich historical and cultural heritage of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, their unique architectural monuments, and the country’s modern tourism infrastructure.

Namba–Dotonbori is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Osaka and the wider Kansai region. The district is renowned for its numerous restaurants, shops, entertainment venues and vibrant advertising displays, including the famous “Glico Man” sign.

The advertising campaign aims to raise Uzbekistan’s profile in the Japanese tourism market, promote the country’s diverse travel opportunities and attract more Japanese visitors.

Japan remains one of the promising markets for expanding tourism ties with Uzbekistan. In 2025, approximately 32,000 Japanese citizens visited Uzbekistan. During January–September 2026, the number exceeded 36,000, representing a 53.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
