INCHEON, September 23. /Dunyo IA/.  In the South Korean city of Incheon, a ceremony was held to present the state award of Uzbekistan – the “Shuhrat” (Glory) Medal – to Ekaterina Tsai, head of the “Mothers of Incheon” community, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Award was presented for her significant contribution to the development of Uzbek-South Korean relations, active participation in public life, support for compatriots, as well as the strengthening of friendship, mutual understanding and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

Decision on the conferral of the award was made by a decree of the President of Uzbekistan. The instruction to present the award was given by the Head of State on September 15^th during a meeting with compatriots in Seoul within the framework of his state visit to the Republic of Korea.

Ceremony was attended by Uzbek diplomats, representatives of the Uzbek community, and compatriots residing in Incheon, as well as representatives of the National Assembly and the City Hall of Incheon involved in interaction with foreign citizens and the development of intercultural ties.

At the event, it was noted that the long-standing public activity of Ekaterina Tsai contributes to supporting compatriots, interacting with local authorities, and implementing social and cultural initiatives.

She expressed her gratitude for the high appreciation of her activities and emphasized that she perceives the award not only as personal recognition but also as an acknowledgment of the Uzbek community's contribution to the development of relations between the two countries.

According to her, the presentation of the state award testifies to Uzbekistan's attention to the activities of compatriots abroad and to the representatives of South Korean society who foster friendship and humanitarian ties between the two countries.

Ceremony participants expressed their appreciation for the attention shown to the activities of the compatriot community in the Republic of Korea and noted the importance of further developing social, cultural, and humanitarian contacts between Uzbekistan and South Korea.
