GUANGZHOU, September 16. /Dunyo IA/.   A football tournament among compatriots was held in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, organized by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in honour of the 35^th Anniversary of the country’s Independence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Five teams composed of citizens of Uzbekistan who study and work in various fields in Guangdong Province participated in the competition.

Matches took place in an intense yet friendly atmosphere, while the participation of citizens of China and Azerbaijan as guests lent an additional international character to the tournament.

Following the competition, “Foshan Mix” team emerged as the winner and was solemnly awarded a special cup by the Consulate General. After the tournament, a reception featuring national dishes was organized for the participants.

Compatriots noted that the regular organization of such sporting events contributes to strengthening mutual unity, preserving national values and fostering a sense of belonging to their homeland among the youth.
