“World Tribune Pakistan”: Samarkand Prepares to Host Traditional Conference of Young Parliamentarians

ISLAMABAD, August 26. /Dunyo IA/. Online publication “World Tribune Pakistan” has published an article on the upcoming XII Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Samarkand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The conference, titled “Restoring Human Rights, Justice and Dignity for All in Unstable Times,” will take place in Samarkand from September 4 to 6. The forum is expected to bring together 300 participants, including representatives from 183 countries, 15 international organizations and around 50 permanent observers.

Various sessions will address current issues concerning the rights and position of young people. The conference will feature innovative and interactive formats aimed at facilitating discussions and strengthening ties among young parliamentarians. An international forum on the role of inter-parliamentary cooperation in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals will also be held.

The mechanism for the traditional conference of young parliamentarians was established in 2014 to expand youth participation in parliamentary activities, develop legislative recommendations, strengthen mutual understanding and build capacity.

According to “World Tribune Pakistan,” the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s initiative to promote youth participation in political life dates back to 2010, when its 122nd Assembly in Bangkok adopted a resolution on youth participation in the democratic process.
