ТАSHKENT, July 13. /Dunyo IA/.   Today, during his visit to Bekabad, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev examined the progress of development work along the Khos Yoz canal and in Dustlik mahalla, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, previously abandoned and neglected canal-side area has been revitalized into one of the most scenic spots in the city. It now features a modern public space equipped with all essential amenities, easily accessible on foot from nearby mahallas.

As part of the master plan for the area’s comprehensive development, a dedicated three-kilometer pedestrian walkway, protective railings totaling 5.4 kilometers, and two bridges were constructed. In addition, 27 new retail and modern service facilities were opened along the embankment, creating 167 permanent jobs.

Head of State spoke with young people engaged in sports there.

Dustlik mahalla currently covers an area of 28 hectares. It has 33 apartment buildings, a private preschool educational institution, a football pitch, 16 sports and children’s playgrounds and a library.

This year, 10 service facilities and one catering establishment were created through 1.1 billion UZS in investments by entrepreneurs, resulting in 25 new jobs. In addition, the Vatanparvar Park was built with funds from an initiative group and features displays of military equipment and service facilities.

Bekabad City Museum was established in the mahalla using funds from the Open Budget program. A summer pavilion made of wooden structures was also built for senior citizens and labor veterans to relax and to hold meetings, roundtables and spiritual and educational events.

Head of State reviewed the development work carried out in the mahalla and the conditions created for residents, and held a warm conversation with mahalla activists and labor veterans.

“All our efforts, whether constructing facilities or implementing projects, must primarily serve the people and improve their lives. Residents should notice the changes in their mahalla and city and see tangible results in their daily experiences.

Whenever we visit these regions, people must sense the spirit of New Uzbekistan’s reforms and the drive for renewal and progress. Bekabad, with its diligent and committed residents, talented youth, and wise elders with valuable experience, should transform into an even more prosperous and developed city.

We will seize every opportunity to transform the dreams and aspirations of our youth, along with the good intentions and goals of the older generation, into reality”, President said.

Thereupon, President concluded his visit to Bekabad. The Head of State returned to Tashkent.
