UNESCO confirms readiness to implement Joint Educational Projects with Uzbekistan

A meeting between the delegation of Uzbekistan led by the First Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education Sherzod Karimov and the UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education Stefania Giannini took place at the UNESCO headquarters, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the talks, parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in the field of digital transformation of education. Particular attention was paid to the joint implementation of the “Artificial Intelligence – School” project, aimed at introducing innovative solutions and preparing youth for life and work in conditions of rapid development of digital technologies.
A separate topic of the meeting was the launch of the UNESCO Regional Center for Early Childhood Care and Education in Tashkent, established to promote advanced approaches and exchange international experience in the field of early childhood development.
UNESCO representatives highly praised Uzbekistan's efforts to develop digital competencies, integrate climate education, and strengthen international cooperation in the educational sphere. It was noted that the initiatives implemented by the republic make a significant contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and transforming the education system.
Stefania Giannini confirmed the organization's readiness to continue the joint implementation of these initiatives, including within the framework of the Cooperation Agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and UNESCO, signed in April 2026.
