HYDERABAD, October 2. /Dunyo IA/. “Centrum Air” has launched regular direct flights between Hyderabad and Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
New air route has become the first direct air connection between South India and Central Asia. Since September 28th, flights on the Tashkent-Hyderabad–Tashkent route have been operated twice a week using modern and comfortable “Airbus A320neo” aircraft.
Opening of this air route marks an important practical step toward further rapprochement between the two countries and regions, as well as increasing the tourist flow between the nations.
To broadly promote the opportunities of the new destination, “Centrum Air”, in cooperation with the Embassy of Uzbekistan, held a presentation event in Hyderabad. The event was attended by diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India, representatives of “Centrum Air”, the management of Hyderabad Airport, as well as more than 120 tour operators and travel companies specializing in MICE, family and group tourism, along with business community representatives.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Sardor Rustambaev, emphasized the importance of the rapidly developing political, economic, and humanitarian relations between the two nations. It was particularly noted that these flights open entirely new opportunities for expanding cooperation with the State of Telangana and the southern regions of India as a whole in the fields of digital technologies, pharmaceuticals, the jewelry industry and tourism.
It should be noted that Hyderabad has become the second destination of “Centrum Air” in India, following Delhi. This route not only provides residents of South India with the opportunity to travel directly to Uzbekistan but also opens convenient transit corridors through Tashkent International Airport to the countries of Central Asia, the CIS and Europe.
Within the framework of the event, a dedicated presentation was held showcasing the rich tourism potential of Uzbekistan, its modern hotel network, and its recreational areas. It was noted that over the past 5–6 years, the tourist flow from India to Uzbekistan has grown several fold and the opening of new routes offers immense prospects for its further expansion.
In this context, Hyderabad represents a highly promising market for tourism, student exchanges, Visiting Friends and Relatives (VFR) travel, as well as international transit travel.
As emphasized by representatives of “GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd” (GHIAL), the new route elevates interregional connectivity to a qualitatively new level, significantly intensifying business, trade and cultural exchanges.
