Oliy Majlis Delegation of Uzbekistan Participates in the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference in Cambodia

PHNOM PENH, August 31. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of Uzbekistan, led by Chairman of the Committee on Judicial and Legal Issues and Combating Corruption of the Senate, Abdulhakim Eshmuratov, participated in the 2nd Inter-Parliamentary Speakers’ Conference held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the upper chamber of the parliament of Uzbekistan, the international conference focused on the theme “Solidarity for Peace and Shared Prosperity: Strengthening International Law and Resolving Conflicts Peacefully.”
During the conference, parliamentarians from Cambodia, Pakistan, Russia, Belarus, Mexico, Ghana, Brunei, Myanmar and other countries exchanged views on strengthening peace, enhancing parliamentary diplomacy and developing international cooperation.
In his address, Abdulhakim Eshmuratov noted that Uzbekistan has unique national experience in parliamentary diplomacy. He also highlighted the strengthening of good-neighbourly relations, mutual trust and practical cooperation in Central Asia, as well as the particular importance attached to resolving complex issues through negotiations.
As part of the event, King of Cambodia Norodom Sihamoni met with the parliamentary delegation of our country. The sides discussed various issues of bilateral cooperation.
The Uzbek delegation also held meetings with parliamentarians from Russia, Belarus and Vietnam to discuss strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation.
Additionally, members of the delegation attended an exhibition showcasing products manufactured under Cambodia’s national brand.
