ТАSHKENT, September 15. /Dunyo IA/.    Today, during his stay in Seoul, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with Sung Kim, President and Head of the Strategy and Planning Division at “Hyundai Motor Group”, Cho Sang-woon, Senior Vice President of “Kia” and Lee Yong-bae, CEO of “Hyundai Rotem”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, contribution of the group’s companies to the development of Uzbekistan’s automotive and transport industries was highly commended. The parties discussed expanding production at the automotive cluster established in Jizzakh and increasing the localization of automotive components.

Satisfaction was expressed with the completion of full-cycle “Kia” vehicle production and export growth. Emphasis was placed on introducing new models and developing a stamping shop. Discussion also covered potential plans for producing electric and hybrid vehicles.

The first “Hyundai Rotem” high-speed trains have begun operating on the Tashkent – Khiva route, cutting travel time in half. The parties discussed additional deliveries of the company’s trains.

It was emphasized that establishing a “Hyundai Rotem” service center in Uzbekistan, localizing component manufacturing, and exploring magnet production for electric motors are important priorities.
