ТАSHKENT, September 23. /Dunyo IA/.   Today, as part of his visit to Andijan region, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a ceremony marking the commissioning of new investment projects and the start of construction on new facilities, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, favourable conditions created for entrepreneurship and investment in the region in recent years have contributed to industrial development, establishment of new production facilities and job creation.

During the ceremony, 206 projects with a combined value of $9.4 billion were presented. Of these, 98 projects worth $2.05 billion were commissioned, while construction began on another 108 projects worth $7.35 billion.

Projects span energy, construction, textiles, mechanical engineering, education, tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and other key sectors. They cover all 16 cities and districts of the region.

In particular, newly commissioned projects include a cotton-textile cluster, an electricity storage and distribution system, industrial zones for furniture and leather and footwear production, facilities for manufacturing electric buses, solar panels and equipment for small HPPs, as well as modern educational and medical centers.

New projects include the construction of modern residential complexes, international logistics and tourism centers, HPPs, waste-to-energy facilities and new production facilities for vehicles and freight wagons.

Projects are being implemented in cooperation with companies from China, Türkiye, the Republic of Korea, the United States, Russia, Belarus, Germany, India, the United Arab Emirates and Tajikistan, as well as local investors.

Together, these projects are expected to create more than 45,000 new jobs, generate annual production worth 60.6 trillion soums and achieve an annual export potential of $533 million.

Officials from all cities and districts of the region, foreign partners and project initiators joined the ceremony via video link. They reported on the significance of the projects, their implementation progress and planned commissioning dates.

Head of State thanked foreign partners and local entrepreneurs involved in implementing these initiatives.

By pressing a symbolic button, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev officially commissioned 98 new projects and launched construction on 108 facilities. Following the ceremony, the President spoke with investors and representatives of the region.
