Uzbekistan delegation participates in informal meeting of customs administrations of the OTS in Budapest

BUDAPEST, April 21. /Dunyo IA/. From April 15 to 17, a delegation from Uzbekistan, headed by Chairman of the State Customs Committee Akmalkhuja Mavlonov, took part in the First Informal Meeting of the Customs Administrations of the Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event focused on strengthening cooperation among OTS countries in the field of customs administration, promoting collaboration amid digital transformation, and addressing the growing relevance of e-commerce.
During the meeting, participants exchanged experiences and views on trade facilitation, the application of modern technologies, and human resource development. The Uzbek side shared information on the ongoing reforms in the country’s customs sector and expressed interest in expanding international cooperation.
As part of the visit, Chairman of the State Customs Committee Akmalkhuja Mavlonov met with Deputy National Commissioner for Taxation and Customs and Head of the Hungarian Customs Service Kristian Baka. Following the talks, the two sides signed a Joint Action Plan between the customs authorities of Uzbekistan and Hungary for 2025–2026, within the framework of the existing Memorandum of Understanding.
During the visit, members of the Uzbek delegation familiarized themselves with the operations of the customs service at Budapest International Airport, particularly its procedures for monitoring e-commerce activities. They also visited the Roszke border crossing point on the Hungarian-Serbian border.
The visit of the Uzbekistan delegation represented an important step toward deepening regional and bilateral cooperation in the customs sphere.
