MUSCAT, July 7. /Dunyo IA/. Omani newspaper “Asdaa Oman” has published an article in Arabic titled “Directions of cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan in strengthening sustainable transport corridors of Eurasia”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Publication notes that Uzbekistan and Belarus are consistently developing cooperation in the transport and logistics sector both at the bilateral level and within the framework of international and regional organizations. It is emphasized that interaction between the two nations contributes to strengthening Eurasian transport connectivity and shaping sustainable international transport corridors.
Particular attention is dedicated to the dynamics of freight transport between the two nations. At the close of 2025, the volume of cargo transit reached 850,000 tons, representing a 30 percent increase compared to the previous year. Concurrently, the article highlights the existence of significant potential for a further increase in reciprocal shipments, primarily through the expansion of Uzbek exports and the development of new logistics routes.
Prospects for establishing the “Belarus – Russia – Kazakhstan – Uzbekistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan – Indian Ocean Ports” international transport corridor are also examined. This route is poised to substantially reduce both transit distance and delivery times, while concurrently enhancing the transit capabilities of the participating states.
Furthermore, the publication highlights promising avenues of cooperation in human resource development for the transport industry and the digitalization of international road transport through the implementation of the “E-permit” electronic system for exchanging regulatory documents.
In summary, the publication concludes that the realization of these initiatives will facilitate the further development of transport and logistics cooperation between Belarus and Uzbekistan, strengthen economic ties, and enhance the transport connectivity of the Eurasian space.
