LONDON, April 15. /Dunyo IA/. Representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the United Kingdom participated in a roundtable discussion hosted by the University of Cambridge in collaboration with global technology company Hewlett-Packard (HP), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event focused on the digital transformation of education systems across Europe and Central Asia, with particular emphasis on the integration of advanced educational technologies (EdTech) into national frameworks. Discussions highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration among governments, academia, and businesses to develop sustainable and inclusive digital education solutions.
A key outcome of the forum was the official launch of the HP Cambridge Partnership for Education EdTech Fellowship – a joint initiative between the University of Cambridge and HP. The fellowship is designed to support the training of senior officials and specialists from ministries and government agencies in the field of digital transformation in education. This year, Uzbekistan has been awarded a grant to participate in the programme at Cambridge.
On the sidelines of the event, meetings were held with Bernhard Fauser, Managing Director of HP for Central and Eastern Europe, and Jane Mann, Managing Director of Cambridge Partnership for Education. Both parties emphasized that Uzbekistan has access to a range of training programmes and courses in artificial intelligence, coding, and digital governance in education.
An agreement was reached to continue implementing the HP IDEA (Innovation and Digital Education Academy) project in cooperation with the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of Uzbekistan. The potential launch of HP Garage in Uzbekistan – an accelerator initiative aimed at supporting young programmers, startups, and tech entrepreneurs – was also discussed.
