BAKU, September 11. /Dunyo IA/.  Embassy of Uzbekistan hosted an official reception in Baku on the occasion of the 35^th Anniversary of the country’s Independence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Event was attended by representatives of state bodies, the parliament, the diplomatic corps, business, science, culture, the media, and the Uzbek diaspora.

Chief Guest of the event was the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafayev. Welcoming speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov and Deputy Head of the Government of Azerbaijan.

Ambassador noted that over the 35 years of independence, Uzbekistan has undergone large-scale state building and socio-economic development. He emphasized that the country is consistently implementing reforms across all spheres.

Special attention was paid to Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations. According to the Ambassador, a shared history, close proximity of languages and traditions, spiritual kinship and mutual respect have contributed to elevating the ties between the two nations to the level of an alliance.

Shahin Mustafayev congratulated the leadership and people of Uzbekistan on the anniversary of independence, noting the dynamic development of the country and the growth of its international authority. He emphasized that bilateral relations have acquired the character of a strategic partnership, alliance and eternal friendship.

He specifically emphasized Uzbekistan's support for the reconstruction of the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, including the construction of the Mirzo Ulugbek Secondary School in the city of Fuzuli, describing it as a symbol of friendship and the brotherly support of the Uzbek people.

Within the framework of the reception, an exhibition of Uzbek folk arts and crafts, along with a presentation of the country's tourism potential and national cuisine, was held. The guests were served dishes of Uzbek national cuisine and presented with video materials showcasing Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva and the Fergana Valley.
