Uwe Knotzer: Uzbekistan invests in its future and creates new opportunities

BERLIN, September 10. /Dunyo IA/.  Managing Partner of “Knauf Group” Dr. Uwe Knotzer extended his sincere congratulations and best wishes to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of the 35th Anniversary of the country's Independence through Dunyo IA:

- Over the past years, we have witnessed significant progress in Uzbekistan. The country is becoming increasingly open to international cooperation, investing in industry and infrastructure and establishing favourable conditions for long-term investments.

“Knauf” is one of the corporations that has been active in Uzbekistan since 1999, infusing significant investments into the national economy. We are proud to contribute not only to the advancement of the construction materials industry but also to the development of vocational education, technology transfer, and the introduction of premium quality standards. I am particularly impressed by the ambitious targets set by the country and its resolve to consistently move forward.

One of our projects that deserves distinct focus is our operation in the Bukhara Region. While this venture commenced in 2009 with the manufacturing of dry gypsum mixtures, today it has evolved into a state-of-the-art plasterboard production plant. Currently, “Knauf” operates three gypsum product manufacturing facilities in Uzbekistan. Another milestones achievement was the launching of mineral wool production in Tashkent. This allows for meeting the growing demand for energy-efficient and sustainable construction solutions.

However, our most valuable asset remains our people. For many years, we have been working alongside highly qualified and dedicated Uzbek colleagues. Our experience demonstrates that long-term success is underpinned by trust, cooperation, and a shared commitment to progress.

From an investor's standpoint, the structural reforms being implemented within the country - aimed at economic liberalization, industrial advancement, and the stimulation of private enterprise - deserve distinct recognition. Furthermore, the expansion of dialogue between state regulatory authorities and international business communities carries vital significance.

Looking ahead, maintaining the stability of the regulatory framework, ensuring fair market competition, and guaranteeing the consistent execution of adopted decisions will further enhance the investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan. Robust institutions remain a foundational factor for attracting long-term capital.

I see great potential in Uzbekistan across areas such as energy-efficient and sustainable construction, vocational education and professional training, industrial digitization, as well as the implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies.

Germany can contribute to this development by offering its technologies, engineering solutions, and long-standing industrial expertise. Uzbekistan, in turn, possesses a growing market, young and promising personnel, and increasingly significant positions as an economic hub of Central Asia.

I am confident that the next phase of our cooperation will progress on the basis of innovation, human resource capacity building, and long-term industrial partnership.

I recommend that German companies view Uzbekistan not only as a promising market but also as a reliable partner for long-term industrial cooperation. Our more than 20 years of operational experience in the country clearly confirms this. Uzbekistan is investing in its future, creating new opportunities and strengthening its position as an important economic partner in the region. All of this further reinforces my confidence in the prospects of our cooperation.

Sincerely congratulating the people of Uzbekistan on the 35th Anniversary of Independence, I wish the country new successes on the path of modernization and economic development.
