More than 400 compatriots celebrated the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan in Seattle

• 113SEATTLE, September 14. /Dunyo IA/. Consulate General of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the “Seattle-Tashkent” Sister City Association, organized a festive event dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Celebration was attended by over 400 compatriots residing in Washington State and other regions of the Pacific Northwest of the United States, alongside representatives of Central Asian diasporas. The official ceremony commenced with the performance of the National Anthem of Uzbekistan by People's Artist Jenisbek Piyazov and “Drujba Narodov” (Friendship of Peoples) ensemble.
During the meeting, historical significance of the holiday was noted, alongside the large-scale transformations implemented in Uzbekistan in recent years. Compatriots enthusiastically welcomed the commencement of the activities of the Consulate General in Seattle, describing this event as a practical manifestation of the country's leadership caring for its citizens abroad.
Representatives of the diaspora emphasized that the new diplomatic mission would serve as a vital pillar in preserving national culture and developing people-to-people ties between Uzbekistan and the United States. Participants expressed their readiness to regularly organize cultural and educational events and to actively contribute to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation.
