• 233CAIRO, May 11. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation aimed at promoting the country’s tourism potential and elevating bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector to a qualitatively new level was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by heads, experts, and journalists from more than 20 leading Egyptian travel companies. Participants were provided with detailed information about Uzbekistan's rich cultural and historical heritage, its contribution to world civilization and the tourism reforms currently being implemented in the country.
The Egyptian partners showed particular interest in presentations of Uzbekistan’s travel destinations - historical cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva as well as opportunities for pilgrimage (Ziyarat), medical and eco-tourism.
To enhance the practical and commercial impact of the event, representatives of the “Edem Travel and Property” company conducted a special presentation of exclusive tour packages tailored specifically to the characteristics of the Egyptian market and the interests of Egyptian tourists.
During the presentation, detailed information was provided on flight routes to Uzbekistan, as well as the country’s transport, logistics and hotel infrastructure.
Egyptian tour operators spoke highly of Uzbekistan's potential as a new and promising travel destination and expressed readiness to establish a stable flow of tourists from Egypt in the near future. The high level of safety and hospitality in Uzbekistan were specifically noted.
Representatives of the Egyptian tourism industry emphasized that while Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khorezm are well-known through historical sources, the modern image of Uzbekistan, its developed infrastructure, and the facilities provided remain insufficiently familiar to the Egyptian public.
In this regard, the Egyptian side proposed an initiative to organize special 'FamTour' (familiarization) trips for travel company representatives. According to the participants, such trips will allow for the promotion of Uzbekistan’s modern image through social networks, messaging apps, and popular information platforms.
As a follow-up to this initiative, the head of “Zekri Group”, Mahmoud Zekri, expressed his readiness to provide complimentary air tickets for a group of 13–15 participants to join a “FamTour” visit to Uzbekistan.
The event also featured a special presentation dedicated to the fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, which is scheduled to take place in Uzbekistan in June of this year.
Egyptian business circles were provided with information regarding the advantages of investing in Uzbekistan’s economy, as well as the legal guarantees and tax incentives available to foreign investors.
Following the meeting, participants expressed interest in expanding strategic cooperation with Uzbekistan not only in the tourism sector but also in the field of investment.
