Uzbekistan Showcased in Germany as a Rising Tourism Destination

• 302BERLIN, May 3. /Dunyo IA/. An event titled “Pearl of Central Asia – Uzbekistan” was held in the German capital, Berlin, dedicated to the country’s culture, history, and modern development, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The program was opened by Central Asia expert Christian Grosse, who shared his impressions of traveling in Uzbekistan, highlighting the hospitality of the people and the country’s distinctive traditions. In a gesture of respect for national customs, the organizer greeted guests wearing a chapan and a traditional skullcap.
Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany Dilshod Akhatov emphasized the importance of Silk Road cities and informed attendees about ongoing reforms in the country. He highlighted the development of an open foreign policy, economic modernization, and improved conditions for foreign investment. Special attention was also given to Uzbekistan’s role in strengthening regional stability and expanding bilateral cooperation with Germany in migration, transport, education, and culture.
The Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent was presented as an important scientific and cultural project aimed at studying and promoting spiritual heritage.
The cultural segment of the evening featured performances of national music and dance. Expert Zukhra Rakhmatova demonstrated traditional applied arts, including embroidery, gold embroidery craftsmanship, ceramics, and silk textile production. It was noted that Uzbek miniature art has been included in UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, where the German audience raised topics such as tourist safety, religious tolerance, modern infrastructure including the “Afrosiyob” high-speed train and Tashkent metro system, as well as environmental issues in the Aral Sea region.
