SHANGHAI, March 17. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbek diplomats met with Head of the International Cooperation Department of the “Heng Yuan Xiang” (HYX) company, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Founded in 1927 in Shanghai, “Heng Yuan Xiang” is one of China's largest corporations specializing in the production of textiles, clothing and yarn. The company's annual sales volume is approximately USD 730 million.

According to the official’s information, since 2005, the company has been implementing the “Eternal Love Action” charity project in collaboration with the All-China Women's Federation and the China Children and Teenagers' Fund. The initiative aims to involve families in charitable activities through knitting. Using yarn provided by the company free of charge, volunteers across China knit sweaters for children in need.

Since the launch of the campaign, over 1.5 million sweaters with a total value of approximately USD 25 million have been distributed to children from low-income families in China, as well as in Kenya, Nigeria, Sudan, Zambia, Zimbabwe, India, Laos and Kazakhstan.

The company representative noted the high level of Uzbek-Chinese relations and expressed interest in expanding humanitarian cooperation. In this regard, the company is considering the possibility of holding this charity event in Uzbekistan within the current year.

In the first stage, the company is prepared - upon agreement with the Uzbek side - to donate 100–200 hand-knitted sweaters made by Chinese women for children in Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, the possibility of implementing a second stage of the project is being considered, within which Uzbek women could knit sweaters using yarn provided by the company to then be distributed to children in China.
